BDSM/Homemade Suspension Equipment
Expert: Oscar G. - 6/4/2009
QuestionOscar - Thank you very much for taking my question. I am fairly new to bondage, but I have been using ropes for several months and my slave and I are really enjoying them. I would like to start suspending her. Several pieces of equipment can be found online, but they are all quite expensive. Do you know of a practical way to make a homemade suspension apparatus? My slave is only 105-110 lbs. I live in a small apartment so I only have a 10' x 10' area to work with. My ceiling is 12' high. Thanks for your time.
AnswerHi Felix:
Most of what you need you may find in a decent mega hardware store.
The trick would be to set it up correctly if you are not mechanically inclined or with carpentry skills. The main thing would be to find where the wood beam studs in walls and ceilings. Depends of what you want to try, find the stuff you want at the hardware store and ask questions to the staff about the weight limits and the size of the needed beams to actually support the weight.
I would say, figure out if you can modify your apt and then get a pro carpenter to mount a pulley for 200lbs in your ceiling. If they ask you what for, you could answer you want to thinker with your engine at home <smile>. But if those logistics are not possible, building a small pyramid would be next. But there is no easy "home made" answer.
Suspension has to be made strong and solid, therefore safe.
Any other shortcuts may be unsafe or risky and one will not ever attempt that. Other than that I know portable safe metal tetrahedrons are pricey. But other options have been tried before and none are cheap.
I hope you got the info you needed. Best regards.
Be safe and be well.
