Read some books. You also need to stop immediately with this other guy--he's not a dom, he's simply a sadist who wouldn't be welcome in the BDSM world. www.sexuality.org and search for BDSM and read it--ALL of it. Then get a book called "Screw the Roses, Send me the Thorns" from Amazon.com and read it.  Join a local group and go to meetings and learn from other dom/mes.
