Question
What is the difference between a blood choke, and a regular choke hold?

Answer
A blood choke restricts the blood supply to the brain through the carotid artery, whereas a regular choke hold restricts the breath by applying pressure to the larynx. There is dangers inherent in either choke, so one must be careful when applying them, as there have been some problems, particularly in the area of blood chokes, which can sometimes trigger a sudden death response from the victim, or sub. The regular choke is dangerous due to the possibility of damage or collapse of the larynx. First aid training is a must when using chokes of any kind, du to the dangers involved. I hope this helps.
