Question
How/where can I find someone to learn fire play from in the upper Midwest (preferably Wisconsin or Northern Illinois)? Fire play has attracted me for quite a while, but I'm not willing to risk doing it with my sub until I've had some expert instruction.

Going to events such as Kinky Kollege, or Sinsations in Leather, both located near the Chicago area, where there are classes in such things as fireplay, flogging, sensual knife play, etc, would be the best way to learn this type of "edge play".

When doing fireplay, safety is of the UTMOST importance, as an accident while doing this type of play can be devastating, leave the sub in extreme pain, and takes a long time to heal.

Make sure you have a fire extinguisher handy right next to you during fireplay. Not on the wall, or in the garage, but right there where you will be playing. Also, have several wet towels in a pan, just incase there is a problem. The wet towels will put out the fire, as well as immediately cool the area of the burn.

Avoid doing fireplay anywhere near any hairy parts of the body, as the possibility of the fire getting away from you, and setting the hair on fire is greater in these areas of the body. Do not do the fireplay on places such as the bed, or carpeted floor, as there is the possibility of setting the place on fire.

If the sub/slave has a lot of body hair, require them to shave, thereby reducing the possibility of burns from igniting hair. Besides, nothing smells worse than burning hair.I hope this helps.
