BDSM/cupping, What is it?

Question
I wanted to know what cupping is. My new sub was telling me she wants to try it.

Answer
Cupping is a technique whereby a cotton ball is soaked in either alcohol, or some other volatile liquid, lit, then placed in a specially shaped glass. This glass is placed on the body of the sub where one would like a hickey like mark left. It raises the skin under the cupping device, which then becomes swollen with blood.

This technique was originally used in ancient China for such ailments as arthritis, or poor circulation. It is still used today for the same reasons, but has also found enjoyment in the BD/SM Lifestyle as well.
