Question
this situation has just recently started. If I park on a flat surface the rain comes in the passenger side front and rear. If I park on a hill it does not happen. had it looked at several times but no luck. need some advice please!

Answer
Ed,
I know that leaves can get in the vents in front of the windshield and block off the drains and cause and overflow of water to come into the passenger's area.

The floor boards can get we a few ways.  Right below the passenger's footwell, there is a big plug (5" diameter) this plug gets knocked loose some times, and allows water to spray up underneath the carpet.  IF you can, raise the car and check out these large plugs.

Other than that, you will need to trace the leak out.  Sit in the car and watch for leaks, or have someone use a waterhose and spray all the seals around the glass

 Good luck,
 Josh

Expertise

I can answer questions related to the BMW e30. These are the cars produced from 1984-1991 (1992 for convertable) in the United states. I am more fluent with the six cylinder models, although few things changed for the 4 cylinder cars. I know most of the problematic areas of these cars, and have found ways to fix them.

Experience

I have owned six different E30's over the last 10 years. I do all my own work, and know about ever nut and bolt on these cars.
