Question
1985 318i had intermittent starts. Now won't start.  No electricity to fuel pump or fuel pump fuse.  Can't find fuel pump relay. Jumped fuel pump, it runs. What should I do next?

Answer
Trace the wires back, check for coorosion, loose connections, severed wires.  make sure the fuse is good (replace it with a new one) use a volt meter to see where the problem is in the circuit. I would start from the fuel pump and trace my way back to the battery if i have to, all the way until i locate the point in the circuitry where there is no furthur flow of current.

Hope this helps.
