Josh   Well....I dont know where to start other than thanking you for all your help with my sons car. The first time after he brought it we had to have the clutch replaced and everything went down hill from there. But if it wasnt for you it wouldnt be running right today (with out emptying dads bank account) First of all I checked everything you told me about the car and the main thing was the coil(supprised me) after following your advice on everything else I did end up replacing the IAC valve and it dropped the idle from 3500 to 2000 rpms but still wasnt right. then I went back again over everything and .....found the temp sensor to be bad upon replacing it everything started working just fine were finally running at the factory settings and im happy as all get out. If it wasnt for you I believe it would have cost me an arm and a leg in repairs with the BMW repair shop we have here(they couldnt even catch that the coil was bad). So once again Josh I really appreciate your time and effort you are a life saver.      Tom

 Hey, thanks alot for the kind words, it gives me much satisfaction knowing I helped you guys learn about the car and save money.
 I'll give you a few tips for the future....  

 If you buy parts from a dealership much (I hope you dont) then you can become a member of the BMWCCA (BMW car club of america) and you will (or should) get discounts on parts from the dealership.  This has saved a load of money for me on stuff that can only be bought at dealerships.  You will also get a great monthy catalog, and discounts to BMW trackdays and first dibs to good seats at races.  (Got to see a McLaren F1 with this club!)

 Also buy from Bavarian auto (I think you mentioned this)

I can answer questions related to the BMW e30. These are the cars produced from 1984-1991 (1992 for convertable) in the United states. I am more fluent with the six cylinder models, although few things changed for the 4 cylinder cars. I know most of the problematic areas of these cars, and have found ways to fix them.

Experience

I have owned six different E30's over the last 10 years. I do all my own work, and know about ever nut and bolt on these cars.
