Question
i noticed my "Brake" light started to flash at me, so i had a friend see if my brake lights worked and they do not. i have running lights, and turn signals. and im not familar with BMW so im thinking the sensor is bad but where is it located on this pedal and approx how much woulda new one cost?

Answer
Jeremy,
The light switch is located on the brake pedal.  Look up under the dash, and you will see a little plastic pin that gets pushed in when you press the brakes.  This is probably bad (common).

It shouldn't be much for a switch, check these places out

Expertise

I can answer questions related to the BMW e30. These are the cars produced from 1984-1991 (1992 for convertable) in the United states. I am more fluent with the six cylinder models, although few things changed for the 4 cylinder cars. I know most of the problematic areas of these cars, and have found ways to fix them.

Experience

I have owned six different E30's over the last 10 years. I do all my own work, and know about ever nut and bolt on these cars.
