Question
Josh, i know your expertise is in the e30 but thought i would try you on an e36. I have a 325i which was parked up for a few months, but drove perfectly before then. I took it out the garage and drove it down the motorway at about 90mph and car drove well. I then cam home and parked the car, but it won't start now. I can turn the ignition, but it just won't start. I took the car for a wash before parking it up, and although it drove after this, someone told me that they know of a problem with theses cars not starting after being pressures washed and needs something done with the memory chip. I never washed under the bonnet - just the exterior. Any ideas?

Answer
Paul,
When you say the car wont start, what EXACTLY do you mean.  Will the engine spin, but not start.  or when you turn the key do you just hear a "Click" and nothing happens.
Give me a little more info and we'll go from there.
 Thanks
 Josh

Expertise

I can answer questions related to the BMW e30. These are the cars produced from 1984-1991 (1992 for convertable) in the United states. I am more fluent with the six cylinder models, although few things changed for the 4 cylinder cars. I know most of the problematic areas of these cars, and have found ways to fix them.

Experience

I have owned six different E30's over the last 10 years. I do all my own work, and know about ever nut and bolt on these cars.
