Question
I have been looking around local area for 1986 325e 2.7 L. a/t RF breake caliper and it didn't come easy and have been asked a price range of $400.00. My RF brake caliper  has been ceasing up on and off.  Just recently whiel I was driving I felt like I was stepping on the gas but the car was harldly moving and as I parked it and see the RF tire was just locked completely to the point the wheel was dragging on the asphalt. One place in Detroit offered to rebuild it under $100.00  What  do u suggest and how realiable is a rebuilt one?

Answer
Eddie,
$400 is a little steep for a caliper.  I would check on Ebay for a used one before I payed that.  There are several sites dedicated to BMW's that sell parts.  You usually will save considerably by buying parts online.

A rebuilt unit would be fine, It should have a warrantee with it though, so make sure it does.  That way you know you wont loose any money if it goes bad in a week.

 Hope this helps
 Josh

Expertise

I can answer questions related to the BMW e30. These are the cars produced from 1984-1991 (1992 for convertable) in the United states. I am more fluent with the six cylinder models, although few things changed for the 4 cylinder cars. I know most of the problematic areas of these cars, and have found ways to fix them.

Experience

I have owned six different E30's over the last 10 years. I do all my own work, and know about ever nut and bolt on these cars.
