I have a 2001 bmw 530I
there is a yellow ligth shape some how like a sun
its on the right side under the tempeture clock
and its right next to the  airbag symbol

if you can send me a picture i will be able to tell you exactly but if it is what i am thinking of its prob. your brakes need to be replaced that is a picture of a circle with dashes around it like a sun. Send me a picture redline4jc@yahoo.com and ill be able to help you out exactly.
