Question
WHAT IS THE PRIMARY MATERIAL USED IN CAR SEATBELTS?

Answer
Erin,
The simple answer is I don't know. The long answer is that information is generally not given by the manufacturer and all manufacturers probably use a different brand. You will notice BMW seat belts are soft and pliable and have a calibrated stretch whereas GM seat belts are rock hard and have no stretch. This also makes all of the seatbelt retractors and locking mechanisms different. Trying to find the answer to this would be like trying to find exact parameters and electrical or pressure signals that make an airbag blow. They figure if you don't know you can't disagree with how well it worked. Sorry I can't be more help.
