Question
1987 325e , on the climate control , the blower motor works only in high number 4 position any sugestions please and thank you.

Answer
eddie,
it's most likely the resistor coils on the blower motor.

Open the hood, and remove the blower cover on the firewall (right behind engine).  Once removed, you will see the blower box, remove the cover (held on by two plastic straps).  Now you should be able to see the blower motor.  In between the blower fans, there will be a little plastic card with coils on it.  pull this cars out.  Clean the contacts on this card (where is plugs in), and that will probably fix it.  If not, you should buy a new resistor.

 Hope this helps
 Josh

Expertise

I can answer questions related to the BMW e30. These are the cars produced from 1984-1991 (1992 for convertable) in the United states. I am more fluent with the six cylinder models, although few things changed for the 4 cylinder cars. I know most of the problematic areas of these cars, and have found ways to fix them.

Experience

I have owned six different E30's over the last 10 years. I do all my own work, and know about ever nut and bolt on these cars.
