how to remove a starter from a 1995 BMW IS Coupe and length of time it will take?  

Answer
The main problem would be the 2 bolts that run through the transmission bellhousing and screw into the starter. They are hard to get to. So the removal might take a bit of time.

I would have a shop do this install unless your fairly knowledgeable around and underneath your E36.
