Question
Hi,

I am not sure what the problem is, however I had the transmission rebuilt 1 1/2 mo ago, I have been having issues when the car comes to a stop(traffic/lights). It goes after the accelerator pedal is pushed but seems to be in a low gear(like 4th). The mechanic replaced the console switch(manual/auto) but this issue didn't clear up. Any ideas?

One other item, when on the highway (70/80 mph) the car seems to be loose in the rear...funny sounding I know, but I am not sure what to ask for when I go for service? (Not dealer service, gave that up years ago) I was told since the car had so many miles on it, it could be anything...Its not the tires, seems like the rear end wants to sway depending on the road conditions..Its actually quite scary when its does this. Could it be shocks or bushings? Any clues on things I should check for?

Thanks a bunch for your expertise...

Lisa

Answer
The transmission problem should go bak to the rebuilder as it must be under some kind of warrentee. It sounds as if it is an electrical solenoid sticking.
The swaying in the rear I would look at the rear links, they are dog bone shaped.Check them on the ground. They should not wiggle
