Question
1993 BMW 525i  WBAHD631XPRJ85538 151,000 miles

My car was low on fuel, I stopped at a store on the way to the gas station. The car started, died about 5 feet after I put it in drive, and would not restart.  I rolled it to the gas station, filled it up, but it still would not start. It turned over very strong, but wouldn't fire. I towed it home, checked the plugs, and 3 of the 6 had some oil on them. The rubber sleeve on the 6th plug also had oil on it. Is there something that needs to be reset if I ran out of fuel?

Answer
No there is no out of fuel resets.I would look at the fuel filter(when was it replaced last?)Going from empty to full or even a fair amount,if the filter was old it may not filter as it should.Double check having fuel pressure with a gauge.
Oil on the plugs,Index the plugs to see where the oil is coming from.Indexing is done by taking a dab of paint and marking the top of the spark plug. When you remove the plug you can then see wether it was coming from the top side or past the rings.
Being a '93 I would think you need valve seals, which involves taking the head off and replacing them.
 Did you have spark?
