BMW Repair/1996 318 convertible wont retract again

Question
I own a 1996 BMW 318 convertible. Top and motor replaced by BMW dealer 2 years ago. I only drove it about a dozen times since. Top wont retract again. I pulled motor and tested with separate power supply and it works both directions.Maybe the switch or I noticed what looked like some kind of relay behind motor I could not get to. Have any ideas? Also recharged battery and now radio wants a code number. Iam the second owner and dont have code. If I get radio serial number could you help me with code?   Thank You

The code for the radio you might be able to get from your BMW dealer,I can't help with that.As far as the top goes if the motors work when you apply power to them check it when using the switches.If it doesn't work replace the switches, you have mentioned that the top was replaced,check all the grounds in the system also,they may not be grounded.
