Question
Hi Don, I have a 1992 bmw 525i touring wagon with the m50 engine that has a cracked oil pan. I want to replace it myself and am wondering if I will have to raise the engine to get it out? Also it has a cracked bottom oil leveling plate, can I just buy the plate?

Answer
Sounds like she bottomed out pretty good,or you didn't see the rock. The flat rate time is 4.6hours which I would think it is more than just dropping it out.Flat rate times are just that flat rate.Jobs that are done by someone with all the tools and knowlege.Perfect conditions and a new car.So being 4.6 I think there maybe some lifting issues but then it maybe just alot of bolts and brackets.
