BMW Repair/dash warning light reset

Question
We just repaired the brake pads and front rotors in my wife's '99 323i sedan and the yellow brake warning light is stil on. How do you get it to shut off? Also, the air bag light has been on for some time.  Are there any recalls for the "99 323i's?

Answer
When you replaced the pads did you replace the brake sensor that was attached to the left front wheel? The warning light comes on when the sensor wire is either grounded or an open connection. What I don't know is why it is yellow.Unless the light you are talking about flashes yellow until you step on the brake then stops. That checks your brake lights. If it is still on after you step on the brake then have some one look while you step so you can see if you do have both brake lights. As for the air bag,if your light is on there is a problem.Have the system scanned to know where to go,it maybe as simple as straightening out a sensor or repairing a wire.Having it scanned will tell you where to head. The light won't shut off unless it is repaired.
I read your response to my answer.Where is the light that is on located in the cluster?
