Can you tell me where I can get a wiring diagram for my outside mirrors on my 1997 528i? I would like to be able to identify each wire and it it's purpose.

Best place, bar none, is a Bentley repair Manual.  Their manual for the e39 is absolutely tops.  If you do more than change your own oil, it's worth it.

Failing that, try your library, message boards at www.roadfly.com, or a CD version via e-bay.

Again, I'd strongly recommend the Bentley.  You won't be disappointed.
