Question
i have a 1987325es nds motor replaced what engine swaps are my options without having to do any mods.   1987 325es #WBAAB5403H9694712 THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME  brenkwitz@live.com

Answer
You can use 2.5/2.7 ETA engines from the early 80's up until the late 80's.The differences noted would be the cylinder head.Yours is I believe in the middle of the model years and it may have the larger intake valves. The biggest problem you will have is just that ,the intake valve ports are larger with the later model 2.5/2.7,so the gaskets are slightly different. The "i" engines are physically the same the electronics are different. So if it is an engine alone swapping parts from there is fairly easy. You might want to buy a Bentley manual to help out.
