Question
I HAVE A BMW 1986 535I.  MY A/C JUST STOP WORKING, MY SWITCH LIGHT IS ON, IT HAS ELECTRICITY TO COMPRESSOR BUT COMPRESSOR DOES NOT "KICKS IN" AND BLOWER DOES NOT BLOW.  IT SEEM IT HAS GAS, I CAN SEE THE GREEN BUBBLE, AND IT WAS COLD JUST AS IT STOPPED WORKING.  ARE THESE OLD BIMERS NOTORIOUS FOR THIS TYPE OF PROBLEMS??  WHERE CAN I LOOK TO SOLVE IT??   THANK YOU!!

Answer
since the compressor doesn't kick in, I'd start there.

Not sure sight glasses are valid.  Is your system still freon, or has it been updated?  If not freon, buy a can of "R134A" with a gauge, and see if it's low.

If not, then check out the electrical:  fuses, sensors, connectors, etc. for that sytems.
