Question
2000 BMW 740i  175k  Shutters alot at low speed(entire car shakes).  Odemeter ticks slightly hwy speeds. No engine light. car checks out otherwise.  Three dealers couldn't figure it out. Not an o2 sensor.  Took belts off engine runs perfect.  Transmission fluid???  Change it?? Live with it??  Doing more damage??  -Bob

Answer
Well as you know with out being able to drive it diagnosing it will be by past experience.I have had a 740 that had a similar problem.I went into it rather deep and had to stop and rethink it out.I had a vibration around a certain MPH(I don't remember exactly).Tires,bushings,etc. all were in great shape. It would come and then be gone,I finally removed the exhaust shield from the driveshaft and noticed the centerbearing had come unbonded from the mount.Your problem probably is the same. You have alot of miles on the car and honestly the dealership isn't going to drive your car trying to repair a vibration that only happens occastionaly.About the speedo ,well probably to get rid of the ticking replacement is required as there really isn't anything else you can do with the units.
