Question
my wife has a 2007 525i, the light for the transmission stays on. i bought the car for her from a private dealer but the car was is still under factory warranty does bmw have to fix this problem because the car is under the 50,000 mile warranty or can they tell me no?

Answer
I honestly don't know how the warrantee works when the vehicle has changed from the original owner.I would ask the dealer that you bought it from or actually call the dealership up and ask them, they can't charge you for a phone call.
When a vehicle is under WARRANTY I try to send the customer to the dealership as that is why they have warrantee. Why should a customer pay for something when it should be covered?Having the warrantee must have been a reason for buying the car or this GOOD deal already had problems.Sorry I couldn't give you the magic wand answer to fix your repair but that is what warrantee is designed to cover when a vehicle is purchased.
