Question
I am hearing a "clunking" sound in 1st and 2nd gear. It still is drivable, amazing enough. How do I check the transmission fluid level? I can't find a dipstick. Does this sound like it can be corrected by additional transmission fluid or does it sound like it will require repair?

Answer
The fluid is checked by removing the plug that is on the side of the transmission.Remove the plug and the level should be just even with the opening of the hole.A clunking sound probably isn't going to be fixed by fluid being added because it is low.If it was that low there would be fluid on the ground. So your tranny probably needs so work.
