BMW Repair - sparkplug cap removal

Expert: Don Berlan - 10/7/2009

Question
Hello,
How do i remove and renew a sparkplug cap on the sparkplug lead of a BMW 316i 1995? I can feel that inside the cap something is broken and the car seems to run on 3 cylinders. Thank you !

Answer
This is where I find the difference in European and US BMW's.The 316i wasn't a US shipped car so I have to answer the question kind of having never seen the car.If it has a distributor cap and you can see it easily, I believe you just need to unclamp it.It should be fairly easy to do since you say you can feel it inside. If there is a cover on the cylinder head, remove it and it will expose the coils.
