BMW Repair - seat problem

Expert: Don Berlan - 11/5/2009

Question
I have a 325I BMW and I'm trying to find out how to get the chair unstuck because it's stuck on a reclining position. The seat is laying down and I here the motor is making noise, it won't come up I tried to put it up when the motor is running but that does not work I'm looking for some quick fix! Do you think anyone can help?

Answer
Unfortunately there isn't an easy fix. What you'll have to do is remove the seat from the car and then align the gears assmeblies. The screws probably have loosen or fallen out of the mechanism that holds the side together. The only way to gain access is to remove the seat.
