BMW Repair - 1991 325i electrical

Expert: Don Berlan - 2/28/2009

Question
I have a 1991 325i convertible. Recently I went to roll up the passenger window and lost ALL power in the car. Then I stopped and later the car started and worked fine. Then the next day, the light on the computer on the dash is on, but when I turn the key, the power to the whole car goes out. Is this a fusible link problem? If So, where can I find it to replace? If not, what could it be?

Answer
What I believe you should look at is the grounds. Check the battery's positive and ground, make sure they are clean.Pay close attention to the body ground. Most of the dash ground are through the body.Check the positive wire going to the starter, make sure it is clean and tight.
