Question Have a 2000 BMW 323Ci series with a M52 engine. The problem that I have is when you start the car it would not stay running unless you keep the gas pedal slighty pushed. Would not idle. Let off the gas it would stall. I had 2 codes come up. The first one was P1510 and the second one was P1624. Auto Zone said the P1510 has to do with the Idle speed control valve and P1624 has to do with the thermostat or coolant sensor. Do you have any ideas about the codes? Any help from you would be appreciated. Thank You
Answer What I think you should do first is ispect for ANY oil leaks that you might have in the engine. Also check all the hoses, celan the throttle body(maybe be very dirty). The coolant codes maybe due to not having the vehicle up to proper temp when scanning. If all is done the clearance in the throttle body should be about .002".Make sure also that the IAC( Idle air control)valve is clean as well.
