Since the BMW water hoses meet mid height on the engine, make sure you remove your top radiator hose and fill the engine with coolant from there. This will eliminate air pockets, which stop the waterpump from picking up the fluid and circulating it. This is what I had to do on my 94' 525i after I did a radiator replacement.
