Question
I am looking for a transmission for my 1989 bmw 525i but was wondering if the transmission for the 1992 bmw 525i would fit? I am not familiar with which years are interchangeable for my car and am having trouble finding one for my exact year.
Is you car automatic or standard? The big difference in the automatic is wether it has electronic shifts which vary the driving mode.I am not sure if the 89 had this option or if the 92 transmission you are looking at has it or not.The problem your dealing with is that is the year that BMW had its body change from the older square to the newer rounded bodies.The salvage yard maybe able to tell you as well,they do have cross reference material.
