Question
Last 7 digits of vin WA62146, 2004 BMW X3. Check engine light came on after getting the smoke and no start problems. The computer fault code said vacume leak - Crankcase Vent Valve, apparently common problem. I checked the prices for OEM parts on line and then got an estimate to get repaired. Now i am thinking I can do this repair myself with a little instruction. Where can i get the information to do the repair myself?

Answer
If you think you can replace the part then go for it.Once you have the part in your hand it will be easy to identify. It is pretty self explanatory. If you want you could purchase a Bentley Repair manual from Bavarian Autosports 1-800-535-2002.They may have the part as well
