hi, i took my 97 528i to autozone to get a diagnostic and the machine gave me four codes. however when i looked up the codes only one listed my car. what do you recommend i should do that would be the least expensive? i was thinking about taking it it to a BMW specialist however what would be a reasonable price a complete and detailed diagnostic reading for my car? i want to fix it myself with my dad to save money as i am only a student. thank your for your time
what are the codes that you were given? Most times you need to have your scanner with a BMW program to help with the codes.At autozone they hooked up to the OBDII connecter which doesn't give BMW spec codes although it will send you in the correct path if you know how the system works.
