transmission on my 2000 328i has a small leak where do u check fluid and where to add same, car is in mississippi in the us

No dipstick or other means on these.  "lifetime" fluid.

There is a way to drain (don't!) and add fluid thorough the plugs below the car.  Need access below car, some pumps, and some special fluid.  Do a google search to find out how.  Likely, you'll decide to take it to a garage to have them do it.  

If so, my recommendation is to pick up the specific transmission fluid (it is NOT generic ATF!), print out the instructions, and head to local shops to see who would be willing to top it off.
