| Comment | Thank you to Mr. Kingery for providing a prompt, knowledgeable, and honest response regarding my transmission issue, and to All Experts for making this free service available to consumers. Even so, Mr. Kingery's comments in response to my concern that repeated mechanical failures had occurred soon after scheduled maintenance service had been performed were unwisely credulous. More often than not, "the world does work that way," and in the real world that most of us live in, BMW dealerships and authorized repair shops are not immune from the ills of another side of the world that lacks integrity and competence. Whether a vehicle is two years old with 20,000 miles or ten years old with 131,000 miles, if the vehicle has been well maintained and running great prior to scheduled service but has needed major repairs to a coolant system shortly after a coolant flush and a new transmission soon after a transmission flush, a smart vehicle owner must question the logic and value in regard to having them performed. I am not mechanically gifted, but I score high in the common sense category. Why have I been spending several hundred dollars on manufacturer and dealer recommended services to extend the life of my vehicle's radiator or coolant system or transmission when from my experience, it has dramatically shortened the lives of all three within weeks or months of the service performed? Shame on Mr. Kingery for implying that BMW owners should either expect higher costs for maintenance and repairs in exchange for the privilege of driving one or next time choose a less expensive and less exciting Honda Civic instead. | ||
