Question
I just had my oil & filter changed on my 2000 323i BMW. The mechanic that did it did'nt know how to reset the indicator.

Answer
Resetting the oil service/inspection lamps require a special tool,to do it the right way.Having been to BMW schools I do know it can be done by grounding a pin in the multipin diagnostic connecter under the hood. The pin I believe is pin 7 that you ground,I cannot say 100% as when grounding to reset the light now may be a different pin.Me,I use a Snap on Modis with the European addition so that I can get into all European cars,as I go to Europe and use it there.Sorry for not knowing the website that will tell you the terminal that needs to be grounded.
