Question
On my brake fluid reservoir there are two lines (hard plastic tubes) that run to the master cylinder. One of those lines snapped in half. I have ordered the replacement part (line supposedly has to be bought with new reservoir. The mechanic is telling me I cannot replace the broken line myself, that the line has to be specially heated. There are three or four grooves where it looks like the line would "click" right on. To me if seems it would be an easy fix. My question: Is this true information of is the mechanic just trying to get money out of me by saying I cannot slip a simple hard plastic tube on myself??? Any info would be greatly appreciated! Thank You

Answer
Although it may look easy to do it may require a tool to warm the plastic.A hairdryer may work if that is indeed the case.A close look at the parts when you get them will determine that.If you are mechanically inclined then maybe something you might be able to do.
