Question
I have a 1998 382i. I bought it about 5 months ago when it was cold and snowy so I didn't think about testing the AC. I have tried it several times now that it is warm and and it blows only warm air. I am not sure the compressor is turning on. Should you hear it kick in when turning the AC on? IF the compressor is not coming on what are some of the reason? Where do I start?

Thank you,
James

Answer
You can see if the compressor is running with the a/c switch turned on.If it doesn't  you probably need to recharge the system. You can get(R134) recharge kits at your local Walmart.Purchase the ones with the sealer in it as this will seal any small leaks that you may have.
