BMW Repair - Replacing Camshaft Sensor

Expert: Michael Scheid - 4/22/2004

Question
Vehicle: 1997 BMW 328IC
Code: Camshaft Postion, SensorA, Bank1, Circuit Malfunction.

I am getting this code.  Is this a difficult or expensive item to replace?

Thank you.

Answer
no it's not a hard procedure, get a manual for step by step instructions.  Keep in mind that it's possible the wires were crossed or shorted to ground somewhere causeing the code to be pulled from errinous function and not a bad sensor; this can only really be diagnosed by replaceing it.
