BMW Repair/Thermometer

Question
Hi Don,
I recently purchased a new 325xi and love it. I'm curious to know where the outside thermometer is located? Also, I think my thermometer is always about 3 or 4 degrees higher than the actual outside temperature. My wife has an Audi and my brother has an American car and they both feel theirs is a few degrees high, as well. Do you think that's quite common? Thanks, very much.

Answer
The sensor is located behind the bumper on the drivers side. The difference in temp is due to your vehicle heat. The temperature is ambient temp,so that would be the temp under the running car near the road, not actually out in the open which will be a few degrees cooler
