Question
i have 1982 318i, it starts from cold and idles, as it warms up the idle becomes very rough and it stalls, cannot restart until engine has stopped for approx five mins, i am suspecting the Warm Up Regulator, i have checked the operation of the cold start valve, that seems ok (sprays petrol when power is applied) any suggestions please?
thankyou
phil

Answer
I beleive it could be many things that could cause your problem.Being a 318i there is no warm up regulater,if it has electric injectors.Coolant sensors regulate warm.Checking for oil leaks, vaccum leaks and basic tune up might help.Filters too especially fuel
