Question
I HAVE A 1985 325E BMW. when i start the car it idles high for about a second then runs normal, then it starts to idle roughly and wants to shut off. i have to let the car worm up before i take off or the car will hesitate.

Answer
First you want to look at the fuel pressure and see what it is ,should be  what is written on the fuel pressure regulator(about 2.5-3 bar)If that is ok then I would look at the coolant temp sensors located on the thermostat housing.(blue one I believe)
