I have the answer and have had the same problem finaly fixed it myself.2 things on my 2000 740 replace the oil air seperator part # 7501563 last seven digits. You can remove it without taking off intake manifold this is second time I replaced mine in 10,000 miles the old one looked great. So maybe it was what I did on top of that. Was to insert a small hose 3/8" down the oil tube headed back to the actuall oil seperator in the timing cover I pushed the hose in more than a foot and blew compressed air in it then using a funnel I poured engine flush down the tube to clear out any thing that could be blocking the pathway for oil to flow smoothly.make sure to change your oil after 5 minutes of running and problem solved it is not the valves and will not be untill about 250,000 miles Mike
