Question
I have just purchased a 325i it is a 84 and has 270,000 miles.  When driving  it has a flat spot or seems to cut out.  Any suggestions?  Also is there adjustment on the clutch?
Thanks
Jane

Answer
About the clutch ,no there is no adjustment. They are hydraulic. If it is slipping or grabbing way high and your not loosing brake fluid, its time for a new one.
About the drivability, there are many things that could case a flat spot.I would first check the basics plugs ,cap, rotor.Filters air and fuel.Valve adjustment, throttle plate adjustment.Checking the fuel pressure and compression too would be a big plus
