BMW Repair/keyless remote not working

Question
Hey Don, I have a 2000 BMW 528I. I am having a problem with my keyless entry. THis is the factory installed system. For some reason my remotes (2) no longer open the doors or trunk. Both remotes appear to be dead. The alarm system is working when you open the doors manually with the key. I checked the fuses and they appear to be good. I am at a loss and would appreciate any insight you could give me with this problem. Thanks Ray

Answer
As odd as it may seem have you replaced the batteries in the key?

Although there is no battery per se they are charged by the ignition switch, the key itself may be bad.And sorry I couldn't help you.The lock /unlock mode with the key installed and used manually has nothing to do with the remote features.
