Question Well, I am 11 years old and I want to babysit. My mom and dad say I can, but I think that is a bit bias.I don't throw fits, (instead I speak reasonably about why we are disagreeing) I have books about babysitting, I study them (to quiz myself later) and it's not like I would let it get in the way of my schoolwork (I have an A average). But when I look in the wanted ads I see stuff like, "Must have driver's license" and "Need someone to babysit my 11 year old kid!" So I am asking you, would you let a mature 11 year old babysit your kid? Thank you.
Answer hi Mansa
Thanks for the question.
To answer your question about being too young to baby sit- I would have to say that babysitting at the age of 11 is a little young. Would I would suggest though is to first take a babysitting course- this will show your parents that you really want to baby sit. Then I would baby sit for family (cousins that you know and parents that already know you). Once you feel comfortable babysitting family then try close friends. And before you know it you will have leant a ton of fun and new ways to baby sit and get a lot of important experience. Then when you are ready (and maybe a little old), you can choose who you want to baby sit and get babysitting jobs of your own.
Hope this helps and if not please let me know. Feel free to ask any other questions you have.
