Hi,

I have learned to play the gaita on a borrowed set and now want to buy my own. However, I can't find any place here in the States to buy them. Is Spain the only place to buy them?--and if so, what is the best way to purchase them--by internet or spending the extra money to fly there and pick them up? Also, I have learned to play the gaita using an "open-finger" chanter so I want to be sure to buy a quality gaita that matches that. Any wisdom would be much appreciated! -Nathan

Hello,

There used to be many places to purchase Gaitas online, but most of those sites seem to be gone.  Below I have put together a list of all the resources I could find.  I think the Internet is going to be the best way to pick them up, unless you happen to live close by a Gaita maker.  The manufacturer of the Gaita should tell you whether the chanter is open or closed.
