Question
When you declare you are a Bahai at the age of 15, do all your previous sins go away and you only keep your good deeds? For example, in islam when you become a Muslim all you sins go away and you "start over" is it the same in the Bahai faith?

Answer
If one sincerely repents of his past sins they may be forgiven. Forgiveness of sins is conditional upon repentance; it is not automatic.  Only God can forgive sins (see Quran 3:135)

Baha’u’llah has written “Verily, the breezes of forgiveness have been wafted from the direction of your Lord, the God of Mercy; whoso turneth thereunto shall be cleansed of his sins,…. Happy the man that hath turned towards them, and woe betide him that hath turned aside.” The Summons of the Lord of Hosts, paragraph 131.
