Bahamas/short family visit in February

Question
Hi, I would like to come to the Bahamas for 3 or maybe 4 nights in Feb--we really seek calm water, soft beach, relaxation, and mellow dining--barefeet is ideal.  We are a family of 6, two 15 year olds and two 11 year olds.  Although we like cities and walking around shops and restaurants, easy beach access is the priority.  I DONT want to go to a megaresort, thinking more of villas with palapas on the beach--also need to limit transport time, since it is such a short stay.  Can you advise us?

Answer
Hi, so sorry it has taken me so long to answer, my computer crashed and just now got it back up. When I went to the Bahamas we flew into Marsh Harbour and charterd a sailboat to go around to some of the islands, but I think a few of them are fairly close that you could drive to them. Our favorite island was Hopetown, shops, lighthouse, and you can rent some of the cutest cottages on the island. you can walk the entire island and one side is the harbor and the other is the ocean. Not far from there is Tahiti Beach wich is just gorgeous!
